The moment I read the blue letters on the wall, I knew there was still some hope left in the world. Not necessarily in this location, but in humanity as a whole. With those words in mind, I find myself reflecting on my own travels, journeys, & stories. We have but one life to live & we can’t spend our precious time fitting in & conforming to the standards of which society has set forth. Live is short & time is fleeting, we should be focused on leaving a positive impact & mark on the world around us. I know far too many creative souls trapped behind the struggle of a 9-5 regiment. Struggling to stay above water & drowning in debt & bills.
Friends of mine who have talents & passions they want to pursue, but can’t because of the constant battle of needing to survive vs living to be free. I find myself in the same predicament. It’s hard to find time to do the things we want & enjoy. There’s only so many hours in the day & we have to spend some of it sleeping. I can run on only a few hours of sleep, but it poorly impacts my performance & cognitive abilities. I try to get a solid 7 hours of sleeping per night to ensure I can perform my daily tasks without exhaustion. My job isn’t physically demanding by any means, but I have to be mentally sharp & aware of the things happening around me to ensure the safety of everyone in the building. During my free time I try to get in a few minutes of my personal hobbies or passions like writing Substack articles, posting pictures, drawing on sticky notes, or painting in my sketchbook.

A few minutes here & there are extremely beneficial by giving me a creative outlet to express my thoughts, whether digitally through words or on a piece of paper. I’m trying to teach myself to get better with acrylic paint so I can pump out more canvases. I have a ton of them just waiting for their white backgrounds to be replaced by live & color. Removing the blank space with more beautiful things. It doesn’t even have to be of anything specific, just more opportunities to create a tangible item for my keepsake or for the enjoyment of others.
I remember seeing this guy on YouTube who paints these large canvases & wraps them in gift wrapping paper with a bow on it. He then proceeds to hid them around the city & glue them to surfaces. He waits around to see if anyone is interested in taking the opportunity to snag a free painting! The person who finds it always has a tough time getting it off the wall because of the durable of either the double-sided tape or a glue used to help keep it in place.
The specific video I remember seeing he had a masked hunter hell bent on finding & destroying the art before fans & lovers could rejoice. He planned a setup to trap the destroyer & hit him with paintballs, but he didn’t realize until it was too late that he had setup a fan instead! After searching my YouTube history for all of the key words I could think of, I finally found it! → Link to his YouTube video in which I am referring to (YouTube Video)
I say all of that for the idea of leaving around little paintings or drawings, other than just stickers. But it’s just a thought, I wouldn’t even know where to start. I follow a guy on Instagram who is currently doing a scavenger hunt for his little star creations & it’s super cool! I love scavenger hunts & he’s executing it amazingly! Check him out here! ← link to his Instagram if anyone is curious.
After almost 75 posts for the last 3 months or so, I finally figured out how to embed videos into the posts. I’ve been wanting to use videos that I’ve made to go with the pictures, but I always thought it wasn’t possible, until now!
