Still Running Monthly Zine
Attempting to make 1 zine per month for the year of 2026
I posted a picture on my Instagram a few months ago & everyone was saying that was a prime-time location, meaning it’ll run for a long time. I laughed because when I posted it, I had done it almost 2 full years ago I believe. It was back when I found out I had covid while I was painting. It was 2 winters ago & I was outside when it was like 15 degree, but I was sweating like I was running a marathon. I didn’t realize my body was fighting COVID until the next day when I woke up to go get pictures & my body felt like it weighed 2,000lbs. But I was talking to Uzer & I told him that spot was still running! Which in the graffiti world, it just means that it is still up on the wall to this day. That message gave me the idea to create a zine titled Still Runnin’ in which I will showcase pictures things that are still running or still running in our minds, because it left a meaningful message behind.
After printing the first issue of the zine out, I realized that I didn’t want to sell this one or at least push it like I did the other zines. I printed the last zines on good quality paper that holds up & has a gloss to it. This latest zine was printed on regular copy paper & distributed to stores locally. I spent one a few afternoons walking around some of the surrounding cities to ask stores if they’ll keep my zine on their counters by the register. My first day, I got 5 companies to say yes & only 1 said no. I was super happy & grateful for the experience. The worst they can say is no so I figured I’d give it a try. Thank you to Forest Park Liquors & Benson Bagels for being the big name that I was able to secure. Tons of foot traffic to those locations & possibly a few fans.

After seeing a few pictures of the zines pop up on social media, I knew I might be on to something. I immediately started working on another issue to prepare for January. The 2nd issue is now out & showcases some of my favorite pictures over the last year with captions & thoughts on some of them. It’s a bit different than my normal freight trains, but I can guarantee you there are freight trains in this one!
These zines are for me to express myself & to showcase the things I like. I don’t necessarily have to put just my artwork inside, I’m a fan of the craft first & foremost. This is a way for me to capture the moment & create something I’m proud of. 34 pages of life through my lenses. A snapshot of the views I witness while outside in the real world. My friends always say I have the best stories & adventures, but it’s because I’m willing to take the risks. I’m willing to go along for the ride when I don’t know what to expect. Life is short & we have to make the most of every second. I’m growing the lore that is my life & I want it to be great. Hate it or love it, I’m juicing every second of joy out of this thing we call life.

Bringing zines to graffiti events & to different stores helps me have something unique & original to share with the world. While everyone is passing around their blackbooks, I’m handing out zines from my adventures to share with other people who do the same thing. I’m a firm believer that we can all win & be successful. I don’t have hatred or jealously towards anyone, not even the big goofy who shall not be named. I want us all to achieve all the things we hope for.

With that being said, I want to challenge myself to make a new zine for every month of the year. Pooling together pictures from my life & the things that happen around me to make it worth living. It doesn’t have to be big or printed on fancy paper. Just a collection of times that I can look back on with a smile. If you live in New England, I’d love to share a copy of the first 2 issues of the Still Runnin’ Zine. For those outside of New England, I have them available on my website for purchase with shipping.
