Flowers vs Bees

Have you ever heard of the symbiotic relationship between bees & flowers? As we know, flowers are pollinated by bees who collect pollen accidently on their bodies & pass it to other flowers while in search of nectar & pollen for food. Bees learn over time which plants they enjoy & the flowers produce different hormones that represent themselves in smell & taste. This relationship allows both parties to flourish & thrive. Bees get to eat & acquire enough sustenance to survive, while flowers get to reproduce & carry on their genetics while staying stationary. Both parties are receiving mutual benefits from each other. In my eyes, we should attempt to interact with others in this manner.

If we interacted with each other more in a sense of how can we mutual benefit from our relationship, I think there is a lot of information, knowledge, & wealth that can be passed down from person to person. We all have collected information that we have learned through our upbringings & our environment that makes us unique. We can share those insights respectfully with others who are willing to learn. We should be encouraging others to reach their maximum potential, while also aiming for our own. With that being said, I have experienced people who I would classify as bees. People who go from person to person trying to acquire as much information & knowledge as possible. That doesn’t necessarily always mean a bad thing, but I think we get so caught up in our own lives, that we forget we to help others. Think about it, bees don’t purposely try to spread pollen, it’s a byproduct of their eating habits. They are hungry & want to eat. I can’t blame someone for being hungry & wanted to feed themselves. In that same circumstance, I would do the same thing.

I try to live my life more as a flower. A stationary organism that attracts others to share my knowledge & wealth with the world. I use different types of traits & skills to attract “bees”. I have pictures, stories, videos, & drawings that I want to share with the world, not only for my own sake, but to hopefully inspire someone else to create. To make something that they felt inspired by. I do my best not to reach out to other artists to ask questions. I’m very curious about their artworks & personal lives, but I refrain from asking because artists are secretive & sensitive about their creations. I don’t want to offend people & I don’t want people to see me as some vulture who is trying to achieve success on the backs of others. I may take pictures & videos of others works, but its with the idea of giving them promotion & views. I don’t want to achieve success because of others, I just want to build a following of people who are interested in my content. People who will eventually put money into my pockets by supporting my artworks & creations.

I try to let my creations speak for themselves. I have a lot to say, but mixing opinions & thoughts can be detrimental to my overall goal of getting people who like my content. I have different opinions from people. I think differently than people. But my thoughts & opinions have little to do with my artwork. I have seen people’s opinions online ruin their careers & trajectories. I seen words tear down friendships & ruin families. Words are powerful & can harm simple-minded people.

But I have also seen words mend relationships & give inspiration to those willing participants. This is why I’m conflicted writing this post. I guess what I really mean to say is be more like flowers instead of bees. Think for the good of the order, rather than the good of one’s self. With that type of mindset, you’ll find your artwork & creations attract more people & positive energy.
